Lanacin 150 Mg Capsules: Use, Side Effects And More
Lanacin 150 mg capsules is a medicine whose active ingredient is clindamycin, used to treat certain types of bacterial infections, including infections of the lung, skin, blood, female reproductive organs and internal organs.
Lanacin is in a class of medications called lincomycin antibiotics.
It works by stopping or slowing the growth of bacteria.
Antibiotics such as lanacin will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
It’s not a good idea to take antibiotics unnecessarily because you increase your risk of getting an infection later that resists antibiotic treatment.
What Will We Learn?
How to Use Lanacin?
Lanacin comes as a capsule.
It is usually taken (with doctor’s advice) three to four times a day.
The length of your treatment depends on how well you respond to the medication and the type of infection you have.
Take this medicine at about the same times each day.
Read the instructions in the medicine carefully and ask your doctor about the parts you do not understand.
Take care to use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Do not take less or more or more often than your doctor recommends.
Be sure to take the medicine with water so that it does not irritate your throat.
You should start to feel better in the first few days of lanacin treatment.
Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse.
Do not stop treatment until you finish the prescription, even if you feel well.
If you stop taking lanacin too soon or skip doses, your infection may not be completely treated and the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics.

Many antibiotics, including lanacin, can cause an overgrowth of dangerous bacteria in the large intestine.
This can cause a life-threatening condition called colitis (inflammation of the large intestine). It can also cause mild diarrhea in some cases.
Lanacin causes this type of infection more than many other antibiotics. Therefore, it should only be used to treat serious infections that cannot be treated with other antibiotics.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had colitis or other conditions affecting your intestines and stomach.
This health problem may develop during your treatment or up to a few months after your treatment ends.
Call your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms during your treatment with lanacin or in the first few months after your treatment ends:
- Watery or bloody stools
- Diarrhea
- Stomach cramps or fever
Talk to your doctor about the risks of taking lanacin.
